Anas Jellouf also known by his artistic nickname, Sidi Blue Moon, is a sound artist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work explores the connection between Moroccan musical traditions and contemporary sounds.
The univers of the artist offers an immersive journey between the past and the future by blending traditional Afro-Moroccan music with electronic elements.
At the core of the performance are traditional Afro-Moroccan instruments such as the Guembri, Ribab, Ngouni, and Ghayta. These instruments, deeply rooted in spirituality and rhythm, are played live to create a hypnotic and captivating atmosphere.
His research and creation process, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, focused on Afro-traditional Gnawa music and dance. This deep exploration allowed him to further connect with the spiritual and rhythmic essence of Gnawa culture while reinterpreting it through a modern lens.
The aim is to preserve the essence of Gnawa music
deeply linked to trance and meditation – while incorporating modern electronic elements to enrich and intensify the sonic experience.

The music materialized in a natural, collectively improvised way, without any compositions or ideas discussed beforehand - and without second takes. From there, Waldman began editing and mixing. Ala Dehghan painted the album’s great artwork.
A single composer’s imagination would not have produced Diva Of Deva Loka as it is music created from a collective consciousness unfolding in real time. The album has its roots in each musician’s sonic experience: this includes Arabic music — including most notably Moroccan Gnawa — as well as rock ‘n‘ roll, jazz and the avant-garde.
